Projects - Mickey Cucchiella
Comedian's Web Site a Hit With Fans
Mickey Cucchiella is one of the fastest rising stars to hit the comedy
scene in a long time. His sometimes angry, stream of consciousness delivery,
superimposed over his Catholic schoolboy persona, is winning over every
audience he faces. Mickey's unique style is hard to pinpoint, although
some have said he's an interesting cross between Sam Kinison, Dennis Leary,
and Billy Idol.
Mickey has become a regional favorite in the Washington (DC) - Baltimore (MD)
corridor, and in the last five years has headlined such clubs as the Baltimore
Improv, Tootsie's Comedy Club, DC Improv, and the Comedy Factory. Requests
for Cucchiella on 98 Rock's (WIYY Baltimore) morning show were so frequent
that the station ended up offering him a job as a night show DJ. Mickey has
shared the stage with such national acts as Bobby Slayton, Robert Schimmel,
Pablo Francisco, Tommy Chong, Jim Brewer, Rodney Carrington, and Larry the
Cable Guy.
With Mickey's growing popularity and exposure, he needed a web site that
better reached out to fans to inform them of upcoming appearances. He turned
to Tivilon to provide a custom solution consisting of a web site
redesign, application
development, and
hosting services. Tivilon helped
Mickey select the best possible hosting solution by analyzing his current
web site traffic and need for storage space. The result was a Windows 2000
shared hosting plan that met his needs perfectly.
With a timeframe of two weeks to establish the first release of the web
site, Tivilon was quick to gather and create content for the site. A simple,
modern look was created to compliment Mickey's personality. The site was
deployed with several popular interactive features, such as a guestbook and
mailing list application. Mickey also has control over his "appearances"
page, adding upcoming shows through an intuitive form in his custom web site
administration area. The site was launched on time and began to get thousands
of hits within a few days.
Tivilon is handling ongoing maintenance, with some of the updates handled
directly by Mickey through the web-interface administration area. There, he
can add and modify his comedy appearances, send out e-mail blasts to his
mailing list, and check his web site statistics. Other major changes are
handled through Tivilon's streamlined content update process, which allows
changes to happen within 24 hours, often times immediately. In fact, a change
he sent to Tivilon while on the air on WIYY 97.9FM in Baltimore, MD, was
handled within minutes. Mickey was so impressed that he announced his
appreciation live on the radio, specifically naming Tivilon.
"I have improved interaction with my fans, even with my hectic schedule,"
said Cucchiella. "Tivilon is also the most cost-effective and pro-active
company I've found. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable and has helped
me out in so many ways. I can't even begin to thank them enough. I know for
a fact that when I'm looking for web site solutions in the future I will
continue to turn to Tivilon, as well as recommend the company to others."
Cucchiella isn't the only one that's happy - so are his fans. Fans continue
to praise his site in his online guestbook, adding to Mickey's credibility,
visibility, and appeal.
